Fireclay is a kind of bauxite with refractoriness greater than 1580 C, magnesia carbon brick price as fireproof material and refractory material. In addition to the high fire resistance, they can maintain the stability of the volume under the high temperature condition, and have the resistance to slag, heat and heat, as well as certain mechanical strength, so it is unusually firm after calcining.

Refractory clay is classified into four types: soft clay, semi soft clay, hard clay and high alumina clay according to its plasticity, ore characteristics and industrial uses. Soft clay is usually soil like, easily dispersed in water and can form plastic debris after mixing with liquid. Semi soft clay has poor dispersion and can form plastic clay after mixing and mixing with liquid. These two kinds of clay are often used as binding agents when making refractory products. Hard clay is often lump or sheet like. It usually does not disperse in water and has high refractoriness. It is the main raw material for refractory products. High alumina clay Al2O3 has high content, high hardness and specific gravity, high refractoriness, and is often used to produce high-grade clay products.

Refractory clay is mainly used in metallurgical industry. As a raw material for the production of fixed refractory (all kinds of bricks) and unshaped refractory materials, the amount of the refractory is about 70% of the total refractory material. Hard clay in refractory clay is used for making refractory materials for blast furnaces, ironmaking furnaces, hot blast stoves, lining bricks for steel buckets, and plug bricks. High alumina clay is used for making aluminum bricks, high alumina lining bricks and high alumina refractory bricks for electric furnaces and blast furnaces. Hard clay and high alumina clay are often used for calcining mature materials at high temperature (1400~1800 degrees).

Refractory clay is used in building materials industry to produce high alumina brick, phosphate high alumina refractory brick and high alumina casting brick for cement kiln and glass furnace. High alumina clay is calcined and then mixed with limestone to make aluminized cement. This cement has the characteristics of quick setting ability, corrosion resistance and heat resistance.

Refractory clay also has important applications in the grinding industry, chemical industry and ceramic industry. High alumina clay is melted in electric arc furnace to make abrasive materials. The electric fused corundum abrasive is the most widely used abrasive, which accounts for the 2/3 of all the abrasive products. High alumina clay can be used to produce all kinds of aluminum compounds, such as aluminum sulfate, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate and other chemical products. In the ceramic industry, hard clay and semi hard clay can be used as raw materials for making daily ceramics, building ceramics and industrial porcelain.
